Biography
Jacob S. Rugh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Brigham Young University. His work has been featured in The Atlantic, FiveThirtyEight, National Public Radio, and The New York Times. He is the winner of the Law & Society Association John Hope Franklin Prize for the best article on racism and the law. His is most recent article, “Why Black and Latino Home Ownership Matter to the Color Line and Multiracial Democracy,” was published in Race and Social Problems.
Global Womens Studies Courses that I occassionally Teach:
Next year, Dr. Rugh will teach several courses that emphasize the contributions of women, especially women of color, to our understanding of race, racism, and anti-racism, including SOC 111: Introductory Sociology, SOC 323: Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, HONRS 227: Race and Music, and SOC 623: Graduate Seminar on Race and Ethnicity.
