Declaring a Minor

The Women's Studies minor is open to all undergraduate students enrolled at Brigham Young University. Students who want to declare a Women's Studies minor or receive advice about the minor should visit the Humanities College Advisement Center (1175 JFSB).

1. Complete the following:
   WS 222 : (WS-Soc) Introduction to Women's Studies.
2. Complete two enrollments of the following:
   WS 392R : Women's Studies Colloquium.
3. Complete nine hours from the following (Note: only two courses from any one department can be taken towards the minor requirements):

   ENGL 396 : Studies in Women's Literature.
   HIST 318 : European Women's History.
   HIST 319 : The Family in Europe.
   HIST 358 : Gender and History in Latin America.
   HIST 378 : American Family History.
   HIST 384 : United States Women's History.
   HLTH 450 : Women's Health Issues.
   PL SC 472 : International Political Economy of Women.
   PSYCH 306 : Psychology of Gender.
   SFL 461 : The Family and the Law.
   SFL 471 : Philosophies of Family Work and Relationships.
   SOC 323 : Racial and Minority-Group Relations.
   SOC 360 : Introduction to Family Sociology.
   SOC 367 : Sociology of Gender.
   WS 332 : Mormon Women's History.
   WS 351 : Early Modern European Women Writers.
   WS 352 : Modern European Women Writers.
   WS 390R : Women's Studies Special Topics.
   WS 395R : Mentored Study Experience.
   WS 399R : Women's Studies Internship.
   WS 422 : Theories of Women's Studies.
4. Complete the following:
   WS 492 : Women's Studies Capstone.
